No sooner had LeBron James lived up to the hype and become the world's best basketball player, than the internet started searching for the next LeBron.  Throughout the years many a young star has been shackled with these lofty comparisons, some as young as 10 years old.  In today's age of social media and short attention spans we seem to always be looking for the next big thing, and he may be a 7th grader from Ohio.

Brent Walker had a breakout performance at the 2016 Buckeye Prep Showcase which has featured many NBA players and high level college prospects throughout the years.  A scouting report from the weekend had this to say about Walker, "Speaking of big time debuts, Huber Height’s Brent Walker (6’4”/C/2021) attended his first Buckeye Prep Elite Showcase and proved his name belongs among the best in the state.  Big, strong and explosive best describes his game.  Still developing a solid skill set; physically, Walker is among the best in his class."

While it is completely ludicrous to expect any 7th grader to become a once in a generation player, it's hard to ignore the talent that Walker brings to the table.  The Ohio kid just made a name for himself and now he's being compared to the best player the NBA has seen in the past 20 years.  Only time will tell what Brent Walker's legacy will be, but for now, the Buckeye State is waiting with anticipation to see if lightning can strike twice.
